Bespoke be·spoke /bəˈspōk/ adjective BRITISH
A word early on associated quite firmly with Savile Row in London where a man would go to have a suit made. A suit made of the finest cloth put together by the most highly skilled tailors. Such a garment would surely give the wearer a quiet air of confidence, of well-being, a good feeling.
Bespoke can equally describe a piece of furniture designed and made for an individual, a couple or a company. Knowing the story of its origins, it’s design development and the provenance of its being almost confer personality. You will have the same good feelings as the man in the suit, your children will relate to it – but not the suit.
