Mackintosh Chair

Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) was ahead of his time as an architect and a designer.  His life and work are the subject of dozens of books and he has been an inspiration to countless designers, me included.  This chair is my homage to him.  It’s not a copy of anything he designed but the 53 inch high back is reminiscent of his chair design style.  The 28 inch high seat, we might call it a bar chair, was not in his inventory which is why I had the temerity to design and make four of them.
